Capture your macOS screen
Take a screenshot image
In each case, the completed PNG screenshot file will appear on your desktop.
Full screen
Press command + shift + 3.
Screen portion
Press command + shift + 4.
Click and drag over the portion you want.
Window
With a drop shadow
Press command + shift + 4.
Tap the space bar.
Hover the photo_camera over a window, then click.
Without a drop shadow
Press command + shift + 4.
Tap the space bar.
Hover the photo_camera over a window, then hold option while you click.
Record your full screen
Press command + shift + 5.
Select Record Entire Screen.
Select Options to adjust any, such as Microphone.
When ready, move your cursor until it becomes a photo_camera.
Click once, then do what you want recorded.
Press control + command + esc to stop recording.
When complete, the video file will appear on your desktop.
Edit your video
Open it.
Select Edit, then choose from the options.
Cut from either end
Select Edit › Trim... .
Drag the yellow box around the area you want to keep.
Select Trim.
Cut from the middle
Pause pause the video where you want to cut it.
To move frame by frame, press arrow_left and arrow_right on your keyboard.
Select Edit › Split Clip.
Select the portion you want to trim, then follow the Cut from either end instructions, above.
Manage your Export settings
Record your screen, as explained above.
Open Gifox.
Select Import media Arrow_Circle_Down, then the fox ears in the hole.
Choose the video file you just recorded.
Note: GIFs only support 256 colors, so they may look a bit different from the source.
