Brew ginger (not) tea
A nice beverage when you're sick, and also when you're not.
Ingredients
Fresh ginger
Honey
Lemon, lime, orange, or any preferred citrus
You will need
Tea cup(s)
Microwave (or stovetop, kettle, or any other way to boil water)
Brew
Cut a small piece of ginger into thin slices.
The amount you choose will determine the strength of your drink.
Use more if making more than one cup.
Put the ginger into the amount of water you'd like, then bring to a boil.
For 1 cup, I use a microwavable teacup, then watch it in the microwave until it starts to bubble.
Stir in honey until it dissolves.
About 1 teaspoon for every cup, or to taste.
Let it cool to drinking temperature.
Tip: When you can comfortably hold the teacup without the handle, it has cooled enough to drink without burning your tongue. About 10 minutes in the refrigerator speeds this up.
Cut citrus fruit into wedges.
Or slices, if you like.
Squeeze one wedge into each cup then stir.
If you have it in a teapot, add one wedge for each cup of water you used.
Tip: For extra flavor, you can add the rind.
Drink
Drink it until it's gone.
Tip: It's also refreshing chilled.
