A lovely African grain that, like many, can be prepped as sweet, savory, a flour, a porridge, or in this case, a drier, fluffy, rice-like dish. You can cook it in a pot or, as here, a microwave.
Pre cooked, dried, & rinsed fonio
Liquid (water or broth)
Amount: Either equal to weight of fonio, or 1.4 × the volume
Finishing oil
Tip: Extra virgin olive oil

Add your preferred amount of fonio to a microwaveable container.
Add the same weight of liquid as of fonio.
Examples: For 45g of fonio, add 45g of liquid. For .25 cup, add .35 cup of liquid.
Microwave on high in an open container for 2 minutes.
Note: Time can vary. Cook as little or much as you want for your desired texture.
Add oil, salt, and/or spices to taste.
Eat it.
Tips:
Delicious with fresh avocado, olives, or a number of other dishes.
Stores in the fridge for a couple days, and reheats well in the microwave, in a skillet with oil, or baked in the oven at 350-375°F until your preferred toastyness.
