Boil eggs
Thank you, chickens!
Ingredients
Eggs
Water
You will need
Stove
Pan
Pan lid
Boil
Place the eggs in a single layer at the bottom of the pot.
Add water so there is an inch or two of water above the tops of the eggs.
Tip: Supposedly adding some salt to the water will make the eggs easier to peel later.
Leaving the pot uncovered, use high heat to bring the water to a rolling boil.
Turn off the heat, cover the pot with the lid, then let it sit for 6-18 minutes.
The amount of time depends on how cooked you want the yolks to be.
Estimate of how your eggs will look based on sit time
Strain the hot water from the pot.
Run cold water over the eggs until they are cool to the touch.
Or, add them to another pot with iced water; whichever is easier.
This stops the eggs from continuing to cook.
Eat
Eat them!
Note: They will last in the refrigerator for about 5 days.
